ORIGINAL ARTICLE: Zeenat Aman to Make Bollywood Comeback

Veteran star Zeenat Aman is set to return to the Bollywood screen. The actress will star in Bun Tikki.
The upcoming film will be produced by renowned costume designer Manish Malhotra.
Along with Zeenat, the film will also feature Shabana Azmi and Abhay Deol.
Known for her elegance and vivacity, Zeenat Aman was a sex symbol in the ’70s and ’80s.
One of her early films was Dev Anand’s Hare Rama Hare Krishna (1971). She starred as Jasbir Jaiswal/Janice.
Janice spirals into a world of drug addiction after being separated from her family.
Zeenat also starred in classics including Don (1978) and Satyam Shivam Sundaram (1978).
The actress is currently known for her candid posts on Instagram.
Posting about Bun Tikki on Instagram, Manish divulged:
“The Great @azmishabana18 and @thezeenataman both I have been a huge fan of… from their movies to their songs to their clothes.
“They are so different from each other and both have memorable movies and cinema moments that we all love.
“It gives me so much happiness that they are coming together after decades for our second production being made by our passionate and intimate @stage5production for a film called #BunTikki, a sensitive film written and directed by @farazarifansari and starring with them is the Uber talented @abhaydeol.
“Shooting starts this month and we are all so excited about this unique film.
“Cast, crew all of us, @stage5production and @officialjiostudios.”
Zeenat and Shabana previously shared the screen in Ishk Ishk Ishk (1974) and Ashanti (1982).
Filming for Bun Tikki is set to commence in November 2023.
Zeenat is known to protect her privacy and keep her guard up. In June 2023, she told Vogue India:
“I didn’t realise how much being able to publicly speak my own truths would delight me.
“As a leading actor in the ’70s, I was always a subject of conversation, but almost never on my own terms.
“The gossip and perceptions could be suffocating, and there was rarely recourse to set the record straight.
“On Instagram, I have found the freedom to express myself.
“It’s liberating, and consequently, I haven’t accepted a single interview request that’s come my way since February.”
Zeenat currently has 449,000 followers. She also delved into how she liked to conduct herself on the platform:
“There is no desire to have millions of followers or present some unattainable, aspirational life to the world.
“All I do is reminisce, talk about the things that matter to me, and have fun. Which is not to say that I am callous about my posts.
“There is enough blather in the world and I don’t wish to add to it.”
“The captions take no more than 15 to 20 minutes to write, but each one is preceded by conversations with my family.
“They give me perspective and help me articulate my views.”
On the work front, Shabana Azmi was last seen in Karan Johar’s blockbuster Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani (2023).
Abhay Deol was last seen in Jungle Cry (2022).
Manish Malhotra also announced his directorial debut – a biopic on the legendary yesteryear actress Meena Kumari.
Meanwhile, Zeenat Aman was last seen in a cameo in Ashutosh Gowariker’s Panipat (2019). She played Sakina Begum.
